Dynamic Loudness Chalupper Fastl

Overview

This analyser implements the dynamic loudness model of Chalupper and Fastl (2002), as well as the loudness fluctuation model of Chalupper (2000). These models use the Bark critical band rate scale to model auditory filters, and auditory temporal integration is included in the loudness model. Zwicker and Fastl’s (1999) sharpness model is applied to the output of the loudness model.

Outputs

Verification

The loudness of a 1 kHz tone with a sound pressure level of 40 dB is 1 sone.

Code Authors

The code for this analyser was provided by Josef Chalupper, and adapted for PsySound3 by the PsySound3 team.
